Education

I have taken numerous courses throughout my educational career, including but not limited to two semesters of calculus, two semesters of organic chemistry and biochemistry, and many upper-level molecular biology courses. As an undergraduate, I attended Vancouver Island University, where I earned a Bachelor in Science in Molecular Biology in 2018. During that time, I maintained a 4.23 GPA out of 4.33.

Experience

My tutoring experience includes math (up to pre-calculus) and English for five and a half years. I have two years of experience tutoring piano, and I have also tutored organic chemistry and biochemistry for three months. I have earned awards throughout my college career, including the top academic student in the Faculty of Science at Vancouver Island University and the Biology Independent Research Award for the top grade in biology. I can tutor multiple levels of math, from elementary through high school and some college courses as well. I am also available for reading, music, chemistry, and more.

Hobbies

I love teaching! I've taught at Nanaimo Kumon for almost 5 1/2 years now, working with kids of all ages, from pre-school age, to helping grade 12 students with pre-calculus and basic calculus. I'm passionate about everything biology! I just graduated from Vancouver Island University with a major in molecular biology (with distinction). In my 4th and last year, I spent a full year working on a virology research project with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. I could say that it was one of the most informative and best learning experiences I've had! I enjoyed all the classes I took at university. They ranged from calculus, to English, general chemistry, organic and biochemistry, molecular biology, plant biology, ecology, biotechnology, endocrinology, and many others!
