I have a strong academic background in biology and education, having earned a Master of Science in Teaching major in Biology at De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines. Prior to that, I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education major in Biology, graduating with honors as a Cum Laude. My education has provided me with a deep understanding of the subject matter and the pedagogical techniques necessary to convey complex concepts in a way that is clear and engaging for students. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping students to develop a love for biology, and I'm constantly seeking ways to improve my teaching skills and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
Experience
With over 11 years of experience as a biology teacher and tutor, I've had the privilege of working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and educational levels. I spent five years as a general science teacher for grades 7-10 in the Philippines before moving to Abu Dhabi to teach high school biology in an international school for another five years. Currently, I'm teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology 12 in an independent school in Vancouver. Throughout my career, I've gained extensive experience in both classroom and tutorial teaching, and I'm familiar with various educational standards such as IGCSE Biology, NGSS, Canadian Curriculum, and Advanced Placement Biology. It's been an incredibly rewarding journey so far, and I look forward to continuing to help students learn and grow in the field of biology.
