I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. I also have a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. In addition, I have a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Some specific courses I've studied to make me a better teacher include Power-Up: Drama Games for Language Teaching, Competencies for Contemporary Education, Classroom Organization and Management, How Teaching Growth Mindset Can Lead to Student Success, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Teaching English to Children.
Experience
I am a certified Spanish teacher with 13 years of experience. I'm originally from Mexico, and I have taught in China, Canada, and Mexico, online and in person. I love to incorporate into my lessons all kinds of activities to make the learning process more fun and engaging. I believe the acquisition of a new language should be a natural process. I do teach grammar when needed, but I prefer to develop confidence and vocabulary to ensure my students develop the ability to communicate successfully.
