Kiyomi O.

Private tutor in Vancouver, Canada

Education

I earned my undergraduate degree in social sciences in 2010. Additionally, I have completed a variety of other trainings, including the IELTS Teacher Training Workshop, the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, and certification from the Korea Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

Experience

I became an ESL teacher because I'm passionate about education and cultural exchange. My favorite class is one with a mix of people from different cultures and countries as we can celebrate our differences and relate to our similarities. I think everyone has something valuable to contribute, whether that is a personal experience, a respectful opinion, or factual information. As an examiner for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) I conducted speaking tests on behalf of the British Council in a professional manner. As a Vancouver general college teacher I created and delivered dynamic and relevant lessons for intermediate learners on topics such as reading, writing, speaking, and grammar. As a TOEFL ESL teacher I engaged both beginner and advanced students in preparation of their TOEIC exams. As an Education Through Communication for the Community (ECC) teacher I taught a variety of classes for children and adults with varying levels in the Kansai area of Japan.
